Abkürzung für Gear Acquisition Syndrom (dt.: Geräte-Erwerbs-Syndrom). Ein besonders unter Musikern verbreitetes psychisches Leiden, das den Erkrankten zum Erwerb immer neuer Instrumente und Verstärker / Effektgeräte treibt, im Glauben, dadurch musikalische oder persönliche Fortschritte machen zu können. Folgeerkrankungen insbesondere: chronischer Geldmangel, destruktive Agonie oder Depression. Spätfolgen: Rückbildung musikalischer Fähigkeiten, Verlust der Urteilsfähigkeit.
